The luxurious and spacious catamaran, Lagoon 500 – is not just a floating house. Just otherwise!
It’s a modern boat, very safe and amazingly maneuverable vessel! The appearance of Lagoon 500 resulted from the competition with the big maxi-catamarans and truly shows the know-how in the pattern of the underwater part of the boat and the construction of the hull in general. All Lagoon catamarans are uniquely designed, yet their designs prove the reputation of its architects, Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prévost, the leaders in multihull boat construction. The new Lagoon 500 has been made by the means of infusion – a method which offers more than a minute advantage in the relation of its weight to durability ratio. The designers have worked on the sailing properties of the boat, however bearing in mind its comfort. The ‘seagull wing’ is introduced to improve the movement properties (‘seagull wing’ is the signature shape of the bow beam). It has been thoroughly calculated, the lengths of its waterline, the straight stem post. Your life onboard gets even better: its flybridge, the vertical windows and the panoramic view from the cabins. The sun bathing area is wide. Eventually, to increase safety numerous handrails have been introduced. This catamaran has a noble origin, which has incorporated some previously tested decisions, like the ones tested on Lagoon 440. The cruising catamarans in this series have prominently developed. With the mistral of around 40 knots you will really enjoy sailing the 500th. Enjoy the sea views from the flybridge while managing the sails dexterously. You can easily approach the birthing spot not fearing to touch the bottom. This catamarans allows proper comfort when sailing. All the maneuvers are performed from the flybridge. The sheets are at the stern, the kitlockers, the dashboard, the little chart table, all is well thought of. It is not only an advantage because of the wide view, but it also allows passengers to use more room on the deck, inside the cockpit and the platform on the bow. From here you can actually act: your leg on the pedal, the sheet in your hand, the grotto raises itself. The same happens to the genoa. At the same time there is plenty of room to rest and relax: the cockpit on the bow is surrounded by the lockers with wide aisles, the huge cockpit on the stern with a galley and a table adjacent to the flybridge, wide platforms for swimming. Lagoon 500 is pleasant both while anchored or sailing. There is luxury and a lot of light inside. All of this springs to your mind when you enter through the glass door. Its excellent vertical windows open panoramic views. The 30 square meters of space allow enough room for a spacious cockpit, a captain’s seat, a galley with wide working surfaces… and all of this is covered with light polished wood. Lagoon 500 can be purchased with different layouts including 3, 4 and 5 cabins. The only unchanged thing is the layout of the left port with 2 double beds and 2 water closets. There is an enormous cabin with a washing room with a separate double sink and a shower on the right port. A leather sofa is placed in front of the double bed which can be reached from both sides. The impeccable detail work of the designers catches your eye without a doubt: drawers, great library, lit up closets, genuine soft mattresses, and wide windows. There is a hall with a large refrigerator, a washing machine and food lockers on the left port. The ceiling height exceeds 2.05 m in certain spots. The access to all systems is simple and easy: water supply, electric, batteries… The ventilation is well planned for summer time to avoid stifling atmosphere in cabins. The big dining table which can be adjusted and reshaped in a smaller and lower one accommodates up to 10 persons. There are inbuilt lamps in the ceiling, all working surfaces in the kitchen are made from metal, the shower comes with sliding doors. There are lockers in the cockpits; the deck is made from teak wood. Every single detail makes Lagoon 500 an exceptional model in this series. Lagoon 500 – is one of the rare cruising catamarans with excellent sailing properties and impeccable behavior on water. We must admit Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prévost have a lot of experience in multi hull boat construction. The classic, luxurious and spacious interior meets the expectations from the 15-meter catamaran with its exceptional facilities for the guests.
