The most important thing in the New Generation Pershing series of boats – is the aggressive look which stands behind well-calculated comfort and private luxury. The 50th belongs to this range of yachts, and this is what makes it successful. The first and foremost is its speed, 45 knots. This can be attained due to the perfect measurement of the hull’s dynamics and the use of semi-doused propellers from Arneson. Without going to much into details we can say this transmission on the a 50’ boat is a still innovative. By the way, Pershing 50 has been the first Pershing boat which was equipped with Arneson. Secondly, the entire design of the upper deck emphasizes the sporty character of the boat. Even the entrance to the boat throuth the side ramp is possible only via the sun bathing platform. Its dashboard in appointed in harsh military style with the vertical layout of equipment, which is supposed to remind to a captain how powerful the boat he is sailing is. And thirdly, the upper saloon is so Pershing high tech in light cream shades.
There is just one ‘but’- the dining table opposite the U-shaped sofa can be removed inside the deck with just one touch over the button, leaving the two front arm-chairs free to be lifted up to become a part of the control panel. Add a hard top to it, and you will get almost unreal luxury of space for a yacht like this. The sunbathing mattresses on the stern can easily accommodate 3 adults. There is a ramp leading to a crew’s cabin right under the loungers. On the right you will see a hall to the teak wood swimming platform which is very spacious. This platform also protects against the propellers and keeps the Arneson propellers safe. There is a garage for tender which allows the platform to be completely free. The entrance to the main deck is located on the left from the control panel. A few more steps further and you enter a completely different world of relaxation and tranquility. On one side there is classic Italian yacht interior with dark lacquered wood and ivory leather, on the other side the diagonal layout of the lower saloon resolves the spatial issues. In contrast to the aggressive upper deck there are only soft and smooth lines and shapes here. The kitchen is located opposite the dining area which consists of a comfy sofa and an extension table. The kitchen is equipped with a 2-spot stove, a sink, and a microwave. Near, right behind a polished wood panel a large vertical refrigerator is hidden. On the left from it there is a plasma TV with a DVD and a stereo system. The master cabin is located in the bow of the yacht, it is surprisingly spacious and equipped with a proper bathroom. The sun light gets in through the hull windows and a big hatch in the middle of the ceiling. Two guest cabins share a bathroom (the entrance is from the lower saloon), and they are quite big for a yacht like this. One cabin features 2 twin beds, and the other one had a double bed.
No doubts, nowadays Pershing 50 is the best yacht in its class, at least because it incorporates what has been recently considered incompatible – the sport character of weekend getaways and complete comfort of long ocean cruises. The yacht of the ‘New Generation’ indeed proves again that the unattainable and eternally sweet taste of freedom can be grasped and relished.
